Me: “Have you ever felt I wanted you to change?"
Client: “Nopes, not in any way, shape or form. No, no, absolutely not! Not ever!"
Me: “And yet you have…"
Client: “Yes! But you haven’t been concerned about any outcome."
Me: “I love you irrespective of anything that happens in our conversations. Irrespective of any outcome. Irrespective of anything."

This small part of a conversation with a client a few weeks ago (shared with permission) reminds me of the power of love. I also remembered it this week when talking with a dear friend to whom I apologised, as I had caught myself, just in my thinking, wanting him to change. Sure, the change I wanted would undoubtedly have him feel better, but that’s not my job. I caught myself resisting where he was at in the moment, just as he was too.

I’m here to love. Love is absolute, unconditional acceptance.

Absolute, as in the inclusion of everything. Unconditional - there are no ‘yeah buts’ or ‘only when’ And acceptance simply means the absence of resistance. I can want something or indeed someone to change, and when I have no resistance to how things are right now, love simply flows.

Without resistance, love is inevitable.

As a coach I simply help and facilitate a loving exploration with my client, and I am repeatedly amazed by what is created, what can change by exploring from a place of pure, loving acceptance. I'm amazed at what happens when we allow our desires, without resistance to either the present or the desires themselves. Being with what is, in the moment, and with what is desired. Embracing it all.

What we resist persists. It is love that allows the free flow of creativity and change. Love is the energy of creation.
