Sometimes

Stacks Image 902
Sometimes I want to feel the summer breeze on my cheeks and ears, taste the jasmine in the air, feel fresh cool grass under the soles of my feet, and meditate under a tree with the warm sun on my face.

Sometimes I want to hear the distant song of a lark, and watch rabbits bounce through the fields, or simply listen to gentle waves lapping the shore as I watch the dance of light glistening on the ocean.

Sometimes I want to lay on my back, breathing in the full and rich black sky, in awe of the gazillions of stars, whilst holding my lover’s hand as she warms her feet on mine.

Sometimes I want to look deep into your eyes to know the secrets of your soul and feel the longing in your heart, to talk about the beauty of life, of love, of the universe, of the meaning of movies, books and songs.

Sometimes I want to know what you were thinking in the precise moment your eyebrow moved, or why your lip twitched as you listened to me tell you I’ve missed you.

Sometimes I want to let my feet hang in the pool, lay my head back and allow the sounds of people around me to dissolve as I become only aware of my own breathing.

Sometimes I want to dance in the street on my way to the supermarket, and goof around in the kids play park as parents roll their eyes in disbelief.

Sometimes I want to hug you, and you, and you, oh and you and you too, and simply tell you I love you, and you, and you, oh and you too. And sometimes I want to stay home to recharge and spend the day simply being with me and getting to know me, reading or watching masters of inspiration.

Sometimes I feel so incredibly alive, grateful, and in love with you, with me, and with everything and everyone here in this amazing world.

And sometimes I just want a cookie.
